Checkers Strategy

CHECKERS STRATEGY

In order to win the game of checkers, the players are required to have their strategies in place before the game begins. The forethought in the game helps a player turn the game in his or her favor and finally win the game. One of the strategies that the players can employ to win the game is to collect as many pieces of the opponent as possible. This will leave the opponent left with few or no pieces to make the moves and win the games. Along with getting the maximum pieces of the opponent, it is equally important to have as many pieces as possible to be crowned as the kings. This will help the player make moves in two directions and attack the pieces of the opponent to capture them to be removed from the game board.

It is fair enough if the player loses one of its pieces in return for two or three pieces of the opponent. It still leaves the player with more pieces than the opponent. Sacrificing one piece in return for two or more pieces of the opponent is never a bad deal. With more pieces than the opponent, the player has the chances to make more moves and win the game.

Another strategy that the players can use to win the game is to block the pieces of the opponent from reaching the last row, also known as the Kings Row, for as long as possible. This will ensure that the opponent does not get the pieces converted as the kings and therefore, there are lesser moves in the backward direction. It is definitely a disadvantage for the opponent.

One important strategy to win is to think about the probable moves of the opponent beforehand and block the movement of the opponent so that he or she is unable to make any move. To protect own pieces from being captured or removed from the board, the player can move the pieces between the pieces of self and the opponent so that the opponent is unable to capture the pieces of the player.
